What you’ll be doing
We’re looking for an experienced Facilities Trades Assistant to join our team in Rockhampton to keep our site safe, well-maintained and operating to the highest standards.
This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week.
As a Facilities Trades Assistant at Hastings Deering, you will:
- Drive safety and quality - ensure compliance of safety procedures and high-level quality & contamination control.
- Lead inspections and audits - conduct regular inspections and audits within the business centre.
- Maintain a world-class facility – keep facilities in top condition through general yard cleaning, yard maintenance, cleaning of gutters, painting of offices and floors, handyman work to facility & wash bay duties.
- Collaborate with contractors - engage and work alongside site contractors ensuring safety is not compromised.
- Deliver excellence - take all reasonable steps to ensure that assigned tasks are free of faulty workmanship assuring quality in the finished product.
- Support workshop operations – maintain cleanliness of workshop and parts departments to ensure contamination control compliance.

About you:
A successful teammate will have:
- Proven Experience: Background in a similar facilities or trades assistant role, with a strong understanding of maintenance best practices.
- Exceptional Communicator: Clear, confident communication skills and a genuine commitment to outstanding customer service.
- Licensing Advantage: A current forklift licence is highly desirable and will set you apart.
- Organised & Efficient: Excellent time management skills to keep tasks on track and meet deadlines.
- Team Player & Self-Starter: Ability to collaborate effectively while also working independently when required.
